Care Home Fees & Payment Structures

Victoria House provides residential care for older people and is registered for older persons with dementia. We appreciate the stress associated with leaving home to live in a new location and we are happy to accept new Service Users for an agreed trial period at the end of which there would be no further obligation

Service Users can pay fees privately or through government funding via benefits or Social Services arrangements. Payments are due monthly in advance by standing order or by direct debit.

Money Matters

To keep things simple, we charge Residents once a month. This charge includes private fees, and also an invoice for any sundry items, e.g. hairdressing etc, unless there is any money held for the resident in the office, where a running audited account is kept of all monies received and spent.

An itemised breakdown of how these charges will clearly identify the cost of the various parts of our care service.

Residents can choose how to make their monthly payments. Many of our Private Residents choose to pay by standing order direct from their bank account. The payments are due every month for the month to come. We review our charges annually, with any changes in fees explained in writing.

We are happy to help Residents to make the most of their entitlements to state benefits and other sources of income by either advising them directly, or by directing them to organisations that have specialist knowledge.

Benefits our Residents may be entitled to include:

  • State Pension
  • Pension Credit
  • Attendance Allowance
  • Help with Residential fees

If Residents would prefer not to discuss your financial affairs with our staff, they will be happy to refer them to someone who can help.

Monitoring and Quality

Within the Home, there are various systems, which ensure that close monitoring is maintained on all of the Home’s services and procedures. Attention to the smallest detail is pivotal to everything that we do.

An important part of our quality programme is to involve the Service Users and their relatives. We regularly ask for comments on the Home, the staff and services we provide.

We have three monthly Service User meetings where the Service User together with family, friends or advocates are invited to give their comments on the home and service provided.
